Walking

It features an unrivalled range of guided and self-guided walking, hiking adventures. From the gentler easier tracks, passing through the forests and meadow lands to higher up into the local game reserve of Monte de Grange (opposite the Hotel) where you walk through waterfalls, explore the wonderful unspoilt scenery and hopefully catch a glimpse of the local wild-life including Mouflons, Chamois, Marmottes and Stag - not to mention the abundant display of alpine flora.

For most of the summer the chair lifts are working so you don’t even have to start out at the very bottom of this stunning landscape.

For the more energetic, the famous alpine route the G.R.5 runs through Châtel all the way to southern France, with mountain refuges to stay in on the way.

There is a large amount of altitude restaurant open, serving traditional dishes or just to have a quick rest in the shade with a cool glass.

All this and more is within easy access of Le Renard.
